Tl dr: Bought the UE Boom 2, was terribly disappointed and returned it. In terms of usage I'll be using it at home and for small home/outdoor parties with probably 10-15 people. I have also always been a fan of the JBL Pulse series but that's a little out of my budget atm.Īre there any other options I can consider? For example the Boat Stone 1500 - offering a frequency range of 20Hz-20kHz but I'm not sure this data is realiable or if the speakers are durable. ![]() ![]() One of the reasons I am leaning towards the Soundcore speakers is because of their frequency range of 50Hz - 20kHz (which based on my limited understanding helps the bass output) and none of the other alternatives offer this range. There's not much of a price difference between the three so given that I listen to psytrance only which would be my best option? I was considering the Soundcore Flare+(I'm in india, flare 2 isn't here yet) until I saw the Motion+ and the Neo Rave. Now I'm looking for alternatives in the same range(~$100) and the more research I do the more confused I am!!! The Boom 2 does get super loud, gotta give it that but again, at high volumes the highs are distorted, the bass gets even muddier. At this moment I feel my Zoook is wayy better than the Boom 2. The bass is very muddy and no matter how much I tweak the EQ I do not get that punchy bass. I mostly listen to a lot of psytrance which is generally bass heavy music and the Boom 2 was a terrible disappointment in that aspect. It arrived in a day thanks to Amazon but from the first sound test I did I wasn't convinced with the speaker's capability. So I have been wanting to upgrade to a better bluetooth speaker (was earlier using a Zoook Rocker Encore) and after quite a bit of research I fixed on the UE Boom 2.
